Brief Description:
The projected maps of the annual exceedance probability of storm surge water levels from FVCOM-SWAVE model.
Dataset Content:
GIS map files for different return interval flood maps and added 20 inc sea level rise. The return period of the storms are 10, 30, 100, and 500 year.
Temporal Coverage:
Results covers the simulation of highest 44 storms between 1950-2018.
Spatial Coverage:
Individual 24 locations of the grid points for towns are mapped to topographic data.
Update Schedule:
• Recently updated on May 15, 2020.
• Next update: Fall 2020
Usage Restrictions:
None
Detailed Description:
The maps represent the modeled Long Island Sound using a coupled coastal circulation and wave model (FVCOM-SWAVE) and hindcast the highest 44 storms between 1950-2018. The dataset contains the empirical probability results that fit Poisson-GPD distribution. The storm surge water level for the specific event annual exceedance probability is provided for 24 Connecticut coastal towns are selected and project to 2016 LIDAR topographic data with 1 m spatial resolution.
